Combining her two great loves: fabric and photography, Caroline creates embroidered, appliquéd and felted artworks which are inspired by animals, nature and the landscape around her.

Meet the artist & maker

After graduating from university with a degree in Textiles, Caroline worked for North Yorkshire Police for 8 years before travelling to Thailand to teach English. On her return, using the tools she had to hand, she taught herself freehand machine embroidery, which she likens to drawing with a sewing machine. Inspired by animals, nature and her love of taking photographs. The environment is important to Caroline who uses many recycled fabrics in her work.
