Catherine runs her own Pottery Studio in Heworth, both making and teaching. She fashions clay animals, by either rolling out clay or `pinching` pots and assembling them. She paints with coloured slips and once fired in an electric kiln they are then either smoke or raku fired.
Catherine also makes brightly coloured joyful, yet functional domesticware. Once leather-hard the pieces are often sponged with coloured slip and hand-formed animals, figures or birds are attached.
