Meet the artist & maker

From a lifetime passion for landscape sketching and painting, Derek completed a part time course in printmaking in 2008. He has developed his distinct style by sketching outdoors then working on marks and tone, through etching techniques such as sugarlift and aquatint, in the print studio.

A founding member of York Printmakers and a member of West Yorkshire Print Workshop, Derek has exhibited at venues including Pyramid and Blossom Street Galleries and Scarborough Art Gallery.
