Hazel Battersby is inspired by structure and surface. Through drawing and collage, both abstract and descriptive properties develop, and as work extends into paintings this continues to shift and change.

Hazel Battersby is a Scottish artist inspired by her surroundings. These include parts of Scotland where she regularly visits, Beijing where she lived for three years and now Yorkshire where she is now based.
She studied at The Glasgow School of Art and has exhibited in Scotland with the Royal Glasgow Institute and the Scottish Society of Artists as well as exhibiting in York, including with York Open Studios.

Access via Queen Anne Road off Bootham. Head for the St Olave's campus and follow the signs. No access to the Gallery via St Peter's School. Car parking and bicycle racks are situated directly outside the Gallery.
The Whitestone Gallery is fully accessible and there are disabled toilet facilities.
