Inspired by the natural world, Jane works in watercolour, silverpoint and pen and ink, on vellum and paper, portraying plants, bees and butterflies in all their detail.

Meet the artist & maker

Jane trained as an oboist at The London Royal Academy of Music. As well as working as a musician, she has been awarded the RHS Gold Medal for botanical illustration. Her work is included in the Hunt Institute in Pittsburgh, the Highgrove Florilegium and in various private collections. As well as botanical illustration, her work also explores the world of bees, butterflies, feathers and eggs.

Access to the Whitestone Gallery is via Queen Anne Road, off Bootham. Head for the St Olave's campus and follow the signs. There is no access to the Gallery via St Peter's School. Car parking and bicycle racks are situated directly outside the Gallery.

The Whitestone Gallery is fully accessible and there are disabled toilet facilities.
