Jill works mainly on her own handmade paper with its unique surface, building up glowing colour with paints, inks, dyes and pure pigments. She often incorporates reclaimed and found objects.

Meet the artist & maker

Jill has been making art all her life. Once a medievalist, she later took courses in art, design and ceramics. Last year she moved from Brighton to York. She has had many exhibitions and her work is in collections from Peru to Tasmania.
This year’s shows included Art Below, Hyde Park Corner; Ad-Lib Gallery, Chelsea; Ferens Gallery, Hull; Woodend, Scarborough; Kielder Dark Skies Laboratory; and Blossom St, Angel on the Green and Pyramid Galleries, York.
