A series of film poetry that explores memory, nostalgia, and longing. The films combine old 8mm footage with footage shot by the artist, original music and spoken word.

Luke Downing is a writer and filmmaker who has worked in the industry for over a decade. In his day job, he works for Channel 4, and in his spare time is the founder and editor of The York Journal - a print publication of short fiction, poetry and literary essays. His recent series of film poetry combines his love of the written word with his passion for the moving image.
This is the first year that Luke Downing has exhibited at York Open Studios
