Monica Marshall’s practice centres around coping with life and the psyche, and how this is impacted by her Asperger Syndrome. She works with a variety of media in an experimental and expressionist manner, playing with scale, distortion and using colour to express certain emotions. Her work is mostly monochromatic, combining text alongside self portraits and other characters. The results communicate a powerful message whilst retaining elements of humour.
This is the first year that Monica Marshall has exhibited at York Open Studiosmonicamarshallblog.wordpress.com
