Combining printmaking and photography appeals to a love of both processes. Fascinated by the diversity of the Yorkshire coastline, Patricia’s work is influenced by its human and organic aspects.

Meet the artist & maker

With her background in photography, Patricia uses both outdated and digital cameras to make cyanotypes and solar-plate etchings, to find a rapport between old and new technologies. 

Patricia is a printmaker, photographer and photographic historian. She has an MA By Research, History of Art, University of York, and has received an Honorary Life Member Award from the Royal Photographic Society. She has exhibited with York Printmakers, the West Yorkshire Print Workshop and other venues.

This is the first year that Patricia Ann Ruddle has exhibited at York Open Studios
