Penny's work attempts to push the boundaries of clay to express the elemental energy of wild things. Penny has also begun exploring the possibilities of framed tile work.
Public Preview Evening 5th April
Exhibiting in 2019
Penny divides her time creating work from Pica Studios and teaching at St Peter's School, York. On returning from a residency in the USA in 2017, the surface decoration of her work has evolved in a more intricate and complex way, using layers of slips and oxides to support her overall fascination with textural surface. Emphasising the movement of her subjects, her work has also begun to experiment with scale.ppceramicsat.com
