Phil makes black and white photographs, shot on film using late-1900’s cameras and lenses, then developed and scanned to produce high-quality inkjet prints for mounting and display.
Exhibiting in 2023
Phil rediscovered photography a few years ago (along with the cameras of his youth) after a lengthy absence and enjoys engaging viewers in the process as much as the final work. He’s an architect, and is fascinated by the way black and white photography also works with light and form, but with greater opportunities for abstraction and playfulness. This year’s images particularly explore how light and shade fill space and articulate surfaces.constructive.smugmug.com/Phil-Bixby-photos/Phil-Bixby-BW-photography/
