Current work involves large and small scale paintings made on location or in the studio. The paintings attempt to capture something digital images lack.
Public Preview Evening 5th April
Exhibiting in 2019
Richard exhibits in Yorkshire and London. Ten years ago he completed a PhD looking at the role of the artist in a digital age. The new oil paintings explore abstraction and figuration; gestural marks and colour are used to express the transitory nature of our perceptions. We are bombarded with digital images that purport to depict reality; these paintings attempt to explore the true richness of our consciousness.richardofyork.com
