Meet the artist & maker

Ruth trained at Charles H Cecil Studios in Florence. There, over a period of three years, she studied portrait and figurative drawing and sculpting using the 'sight-size' technique. 

Over much of the last decade, Ruth has used this technique to paint still lifes in oil and more recently, to paint the surrounding landscape. Ruth also works in clay to create figurative sculptures. Whenever possible Ruth prefers to work from life.
