Mark Druery

Mark creates colourful and vibrant sketches and drawings in pen and watercolour. His studies include both natural settings or cityscapes in the UK and abroad, including York and Venice.

Meet the artist & maker

Mark first trained at Canterbury School of Art & Design, where he was taught to “always look up”. He mainly uses drawing pens. He loves the immediacy of them and the definitive mark-making of the process and the decisiveness of the pen stroke. He then applies watercolour. Mark says, ”The concentration required in the process, to capture a place on paper commits the details to memory better than any photograph and stays with you forever.”
