Accessibility

One of the joys of this event is the range of spaces our artists exhibit in – from garden sheds and front rooms to shared professional studio spaces. However, we recognise that this can add challenges for visitors with different accessibility requirements. Our artists were asked to provide information on some key accessibility criteria, and where this has been provided, this is displayed on each artist’s page. As so many of the venues are people’s homes rather than public places, and as individual’s access needs vary so much, this is limited but we hope it is helpful and we would welcome feedback from visitors on how we display this information.

One thing we have been asked to include is information on accessible toilet facilities. Our map is already very busy so we haven’t been able to do this but you can find information on public toilets in York on york.gov.uk/PublicToilets and a map of Changing Places facilities on changing-places.org/find.
