Meet the artist & maker

Leo is a Cuban figurative painter based in York. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Matanzas, Cuba, he explores themes of memory, nostalgia and cultural identity. His current work draws inspiration from analogue media, youth culture, and the quiet intimacy of everyday life. Leo’s paintings blend classical technique with a contemporary sensibility rooted in personal and collective history. He has exhibited in the UK and internationally.
