Meet the artist & maker

Kate explores the unique qualities of her locations, working quickly and intuitively out in the elements, filling sketch books and producing studies, field notes and paintings. Back at the easel she uses these to evoke memories and inspire larger studio works, which are often textural and layered with subtle colour. Life drawing plays an important role in Kate’s observational practice, and she is also a prolific painter of the human form.
