Inspiration for Caroline’s oil paintings comes from observations of the beauty and colours of nature, with a particular passion for capturing the contribution of light within seascapes and woodland undergrowth.

Meet the artist & maker

Caroline is an artist with roots in the Northeast of England who, following a career as a scientist, returned to the easel in 2010, experimenting and self-learning with oil painting media. Inspiration for her paintings comes from observing the shape, beauty and colours within the natural world. Her paintings especially focus on capturing the effects of light, together with the hues and tones of pigments, brush strokes and movement of paint on canvas.
