David P. Cooper

Dave paints mainly in watercolour and gouache. He uses sketches and photos taken whilst out and about. Focusing on landscapes and wildlife, he aims to capture the beauty surrounding us.

Meet the artist & maker

Dave studied technical and scientific illustration in the 1980s. He worked for 25 years in Europe as an illustrator and later a graphic designer. During this time, he also pursued his passion for drawing and painting landscapes, wildlife and Provencal villages. Since returning to the UK, Dave has focused on subjects closer to home. He exhibits locally and was a finalist in the 2025 David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year competition held in London.
