Lewis Sand Art

Mark creates sculptures using just sand and water. When he isn’t sculpting a sandcastle Mark likes to create quirky or whimsical sculptures—often of oversized everyday objects.

Meet the artist & maker

Mark has been sand-sculpting for around 15 years but has only really honed his craft in the last 7 years or so with the help of some professional training. In the summer of 2025, some of Mark’s creations were featured on BBC Look North, BBC Breakfast and various other online news publications including the Yorkshire Post and even the Washington Post. Mark is equally at home sculpting on the beach or in his purpose-built sandpit.
