Sinead Barker Textile Artist

Sinead is a self-taught textile artist creating stitched animal portraits. Her practice emerged as a way to cope with the limitations of chronic illness, exploring her connection and emotions through an affinity to the animals she portrays. She collages fabrics and uses intricate free-motion embroidery to bring the animals to life, and often uses natural elements to dye her canvas backgrounds, inspired by quiet, reflective moments in nature.
