Chris Hall

Chris uses lino etching combined with drawing and watercolour to overlay transparent layers of colour to reference the expansive horizons of the landscape of the Yorkshire Coast and the Yorkshire Wolds.

Preview Evening Friday 17th April 6-9pm.

Meet the artist & maker

The Yorkshire landscape is a constant source of inspiration for Chris’s practice. Working on several pieces simultaneously enables him to play one image off another. Each can be viewed individually or as part of a series. Overlaying multiple horizontals and verticals of colour offers hints of real places. The intention is to create a sense of place without direct reference to it. Chris has taught Art at St Peter’s School for over 35 years.
