Anna Vialle

Anna is a pen and watercolour artist inspired by Japanese woodblocks and natural history illustration. She focuses on birds using repetition, limited colour and negative space to create calm, carefully composed artwork.

Meet the artist & maker

Anna completed a BA Hons in Art Education at Bretton Hall in 1997. Twenty years later, whilst working as a mental health nurse, she returned to art as a form of relief and focus. Her pen and watercolour work explores the power of negative space, limited colour and thoughtful composition. Anna is inspired by the techniques, colours and style of Japanese woodblock prints and natural history illustration and the quiet discipline of repetition.
