Hazel Battersby

Hazel studied at The Glasgow School of Art. Her paintings are inspired by landscape but remain essentially abstract. Inspiration comes from visiting remote locations and experiencing a sense of place. Through exploring mark, drawing and collage, abstract and descriptive properties develop, and as they extend into paintings this continues to shift and change. Her work is rooted in landscape but developed through painting. An expressive and dynamic approach invites you to look closer.
