Caroline Utterson

Combining her two great loves: fabric and photography, Caroline creates intricately embroidered, appliquéd and beaded artworks which are inspired by animals, nature and the beautiful Yorkshire landscape.

Meet the artist & maker

After graduating from university with a Degree in Textiles, Caroline worked as a freelance designer, before joining North Yorkshire Police for eight years. Wishing to pursue her creativity, she resigned and travelled to Thailand to teach English. On her return, using a basic sewing machine, she taught herself freehand machine embroidery and started her textile art business in 2013. A member of York Textile Artists, Caroline is inspired by nature and her love of taking photographs.

There is a ramped entrance at side door. Work will be displayed on the ground floor and the first floor.

There is a stairlift to access the first floor. On the first floor there are steps between different areas.
