Jo Yeates

Jo puts the text into textile art using hand-stitch, appliqué, machine-stitch, stamp and stencil. She brings a fresh perspective to the traditions of quilting and patchwork.

Meet the artist & maker

Jo was a lawyer for many years but gave it up because it was making her miserable. She then attended a textiles evening class and never looked back. Her work often reflects upon the lives of women, and the ups and downs therein. She loves to incorporate text in her work, often using a phrase or a poem as her starting point. She is a member of York Textile Artists.

The venue is on the ground floor.

There is a ramped entrance at side door. Work will be displayed on the ground floor and the first floor.

There is a stairlift to access the first floor. On the first floor there are steps between different areas.
